Tigers Get Hard-Earned Win
The Detroit Tigers and Montreal Expos played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.

The Montreal Expos got a superb performance from pitcher Isaac Munroe, but the Detroit Tigers still won the game, 3-2. Munroe threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Detroit reliever Norberto Robledo picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jason Noble was saddled with the loss.

The Tigers beat the Expos in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Blake Quinn produced in the bottom of the eighth. Batting against Jason Noble, Quinn gave his team the lead, 3-2, when he hit a 2-run single.

"We put together a nice win," Quinn said.

The first-place Expos now sit at 60-45.
