Marlins Take Home 3-2 Win Over Montreal
|
Miami beat Montreal at LoanDepot Field, escaping with a 3-2 win. The win in large part was due to first baseman Colten Anderson. He went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Connor Halbig, the winning pitcher, improved to 3-0. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 8 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 1. With the win, Miami goes to 71-33, while the Expos fall to 29-75.
Anderson had a game-changing double in the bottom of the sixth. On a 1-0 curveball from Hollywood Caso, he banged a run-scoring double to left-center, giving the Marlins a 3-2 lead. It was the 39th double of the year for Anderson.
"We busted our tails," said Montreal manager John Sweeney. "But we came up short."
