The New York Yankees defeated the Portland Hops, 6-1, in Eastern Region action at Yankee Stadium. New York pitcher Nathaniel Murphy had a standout performance. Brian Kuester earned his 2nd save in 4 chances. The Yankees saw their win-loss record go to 43-60. At the same time, the Hops fell to 39-64.

Zach Loftin aided the New York cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the shortstop was 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs.
