The Memphis Blues got a superb performance from designated hitter Sebastian Gates, but the New York Yankees still won the game, 7-4. Gates went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. Picking up his 1st save was 26-year old right-handed pitcher V.J. Olaroia. With the victory, the Yankees record stands at 43-58.
New York took advantage of an error in the bottom of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 4-4, when Jonas Arron hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put the Yankees in front, 6-4.
"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Arron.
