Indians Topple Falcons with Late Rally
|
The Cleveland Indians had to overcome a good performance from Fresno pitcher Karson Lenz to claim a 3-1 win at Tecumseh Field. Lenz went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs. Max Gilchrist got credit for the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. The Indians raised their record to 53-45.
Cleveland took a 3-1 lead on Chia-Wei Ni's 22nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Fresno pitcher Wade Evans in the bottom of the eighth.
"Hustle and hard work is a big part of our success," said Ni. "Those qualities define our team."
