Pirates Rack Up 3-1 Win Versus Seattle
|
The Pittsburgh Pirates, behind a great outing from Silas LeNormand, who leads the NL with a 0.98 WHIP, defeated the Seattle Mariners, 3-1, at Best Buy Ballpark. Micah Duncan notched his 8th save in 10 chances. With the victory, the Pirates upped their record to 55-42.
Benton Kiser, who finished 5th in the AL in RBI with 112 in 2060, helped out the Pittsburgh cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the third baseman drew 1 walk.
"Main thing is I want the team to win," LeNormand told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
