Yankees Turn Back Mariners, 4-3
|
The New York Yankees saddled the Seattle Mariners with a loss at T-Mobile Park. The final score was 4-3. Daryn Scott was 2 for 4, including 1 single and 1 home run. The New York designated hitter scored 1 run and drove in 3. George Babcock, the winner, improved to 3-6. He held the Mariners to 1 run on 6 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 2. Garret Adams got the save, the 5th for him this season.
New York grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Scott hit a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season put the Yankees out in front, 4-1.
"I was a little disappointed," said Seattle manager Tommy Vuono. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
The win gives the Yankees a record of 33-62.
