Brewers Knock Off Red Sox at American Family Field
|
In a tight contest between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Boston Red Sox, Jim Hallett was the determining factor. The Milwaukee right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-2 win. Hallett got the win, improving to 5-1. He gave up 5 hits and walked 3 over 6.1 innings. He allowed no runs. Zach Hathaway earned the save for Milwaukee, his 1st of the year.
Milwaukee took a 3-0 lead on Jeremy Bath's 6th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Bath hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Boston pitcher Ralph Mayes visibly frustrated.
"That's how you're going to be successful," said Brewers manager Max Quick. "It starts with pitching and it will always be pitching."
Milwaukee is second in the National League Torres Division with a record of 53-42.
