At Comerica Park, the Baltimore Orioles and Detroit Tigers were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Good production from left fielder Reese Cleveland helped the Detroit Tigers topple the Baltimore Orioles, 9-1. Cleveland went 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the Tigers. Kai Schaefer, the winning pitcher, is now 8-7. He went 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits, while fanning 4 and walking 1. A.J. Clanton earned the save for Detroit, his 2nd of the year.

Glenn Eaton had a big 2-run double for the Tigers in the bottom of the third inning. With Detroit leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from former first round draft pick Marc Gagnon and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 15th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Tigers ahead, 4-0.

Baltimore manager Craig Lauer said his team was "out of sync."

Detroit is now 45-49, while Baltimore is 51-43.
