Win Lifts Mariners to 62-31
|
The Seattle Mariners picked up a win at Fenway Park, knocking off the Boston Red Sox, 4-3. Starting pitcher Carson Loveday was a big reason why. Loveday, now 9-4, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing 3 runs. Gaman Ramage got the save, the 28th for him this season.
Harwood Witt, the 26-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Witt contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put Seattle up, 4-1.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Witt said after the game.
Seattle has an impressive 62-31 record.
