Yankees Stun Mariners, 3-2
|
Starting pitcher Aaron Barbetta was a major factor in the 3-2 New York Yankees triumph over the Seattle Mariners. New York pitcher Dave Toller got the win. He's now 5-3. Adam Keef was tagged with the loss. The loss makes Seattle 64-29.
The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Gregory Tuff came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Seattle pitcher Adam Keef, he hit a 2-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting New York on top, 3-2.
"That's baseball," said Seattle manager D.J. Madrid. "You're not always going to be hitting on all cylinders."
