Ignition Stay Hot with Extra-Inning Win
|
The Texas Rangers got a sterling performance from pitcher Ezra Varney, but the Indianapolis Ignition still prevailed, 3-2. Varney threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball. Allan Spincic picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-2. Brayden Starcher was tagged with the loss. The losing streak for Texas has now reached 8 games.
Both team had trouble scoring runs. So, E.J. Sadowski's at-bat in the top of the tenth was critical. With no one out, the Indianapolis center fielder hit a solo home run, to give his team a 3-2 lead.
"We're in a funk right now," said Texas skipper Andy Daniels.
