Giants Lose 6-3 Decision to St. Louis
|
Wes Boring left his imprint on the 6-3 St. Louis win against the San Francisco Giants. Boring went 3-4 with a triple, a double, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win was credited to Lance Snell in relief. His record improves to 6-4. Perry Maddox took the loss. The first-place Cardinals, at 51-39, now lead their division by 4 games.
Had Skyler Ellis not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Ellis hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Cardinals.
"There's a lot of passion in our clubhouse," said Ellis. "When we put it together we're a great ball club."
