Giants Stick Mets with 10-5 Loss
|
Citi Field was the site for National League action featuring the New York Mets and San Francisco Giants.
Thanks in large part to designated hitter Sterling Harris, the San Francisco Giants beat the New York Mets, 10-5. Harris was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. San Francisco is now 59-30, while New York is 34-55.
Teddie Lucas, who led the AL in OPS with 1.090 in 2058, had a timely hit in the top of the fifth inning. With no one out and the bases loaded, the San Francisco shortstop hit a 2-run single. That put the Giants in front, 4-3.
"This kind of win will certainly make our fans happy," Harris told the San Francisco Chronicle.
