The Indianapolis Ignition defeated the Texas Rangers, 11-2, at Globe Life Park in Arlington today. Leading the charge for Indianapolis was designated hitter Olegário Acuña. He slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. Indianapolis reliever Alan Welsh picked up the win, upping his record to 9-0. Ronald Landreaux took the loss. At 51-37, Indianapolis is in first place in the Eastern Region Great Lakes Division.

Indianapolis used the clutch hitting of Brandon Wright to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Ignition the lead, 3-2. For the game, Wright had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

"We looked pretty good up and down," said Indianapolis manager Jose Gomez.
