The Vancouver Cascades turned back the Atlanta Braves, 9-8, at Royal Port Stadium. Dantrell Simmons, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Vancouver reliever Sebastian Anderson got the win, raising his record to 4-1. Noah Thompson was tagged with the loss. The second-place Cascades have won 5 straight.

Vancouver took a 8-7 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With one out, left fielder Lawrence Carla hit a 2-run home run that electrified the crowd.

Carla said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
