Braves Reel Off Another Win
Truist Park was the site for National League action featuring the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves.

The Atlanta Braves powered past the New York Mets, 8-5, at Truist Park. Sidell Bleecker provided some of the pop. Diz went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Quentin Schaffer, the winner, improved to 7-6. He held New York to 4 runs on 6 hits over 5.2 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. Thurston Hill recorded the save, his 7th.

Caleb Mancillas had a big bases-clearing double for the Braves in the bottom of the third inning. With Atlanta leading 3-1 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from J.B. Whitson, who finished 5th in the NL in strikeouts with 177 in 2063, and swatted a double to center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Braves ahead, 6-1.

"I feel like we're rolling now," Bleecker told the Atlanta Herald."The dugout is coming alive."

Atlanta is third in the National League Torres Division with a record of 40-43.
