Blue Jays Earn 5-4 Win Versus Angels
|
Mendy Pérez was a major factor in the 5-4 Toronto win over California. The Blue Jays catcher went 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. The win belongs to Alfonzo Jiménez in relief. His record improves to 5-1. Marc Bernal took the loss for California. The Blue Jays improved to a lofty 59-24.
Mike Asawawong, the 27-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Asawawong contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Toronto up, 5-4.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Pérez told the Toronto Bulletin.
