Starting pitcher Buzz Johnson did his part in helping the Memphis Blues thwart the Miami Marlins, 3-1. The first-place Blues improved to 50-31.

Iván Mayorga helped out the Memphis cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the right fielder went 1-3 with a double.

"That was a really good outing by Buzz," said Memphis manager Vince Hendrix.
