Cascades Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Vancouver Cascades dealt the Miami Marlins a 6-5 loss at Marlins Park. Asher Wurtz was the star on offense. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Tony Young locked down his 5th save. The win for the Cascades raised their record to 47-34.
Wes Marques had a go-ahead home run for Vancouver in the top of the 12th inning. With no one out and the bases empty, the 25-year old first baseman hit a solo home run off Tony Calton. His 4th home run of the season made the score 6-5.
"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Pablo Vega.
