The Memphis Blues turned back the Portland Hops, 8-7, at Blues Stadium. Alex Nicholson, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs. This win makes it 6 in a row for Memphis.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Memphis center fielder Amadeo Ybarra, facing Landon Basinger, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Blues the 8-7 win.
