Indians Deal Falcons Painful Loss
|
Due in large part to center fielder Walt Ramos, the Cleveland Indians sunk the Fresno Falcons, 7-6. Ramos went 2 for 2 with 2 singles and a walk. Cleveland reliever Erik Burris was the winner. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Woody Jones. Cleveland is 4th in the American League Pons Division with a record of 36-44.
Cleveland got a knockout punch from Ned Weston. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"This place was rocking at the end," Weston said.
