Portland Loss Spoils Terrific Game by Britton
The Texas Rangers besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Portland center fielder Elliot Britton by beating the Hops, 9-6, at Globe Life Park in Arlington. Britton hit 3 home runs. Remington Lockard recorded his 9th save for Texas. The third-place Rangers improved to 40-40.

Chevy Valdes, the 3rd overall pick in the 2054 draft, chipped in a run-scoring single for Texas in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 4 RBI.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Texas skipper James Sparks.
