The Chicago White Sox got a good effort from starter Lyle Lundquist in defeating the Milwaukee Brewers at American Family Field. The final score was 4-1. Lundquist, now 9-3, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. At 38-41, the White Sox find themselves in third place in the Western Region Central Division.
Stanford Parker, the 30-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Parker contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Chicago up, 2-0.
