The Cleveland Indians defeated the Texas Rangers, 8-6, at Tecumseh Field. Leading the charge for Cleveland was catcher Niceto Bracamonte. He went 2-3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Cleveland, now 45-33, holds down second place in the American League Pons Division.

Cleveland took the lead, 8-5, on Jodie Beasley's 1st home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Texas pitcher Tim Briere in the bottom of the eighth.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Cleveland manager Justin Jackson.
