The Montreal Expos bombarded the Houston Astros, 13-2, at Olympic Stadium. Leading the blitz was John Hunt. He was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for Montreal. The last-place Expos hiked their record to 33-44.

The Astros had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Expos going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the former first round draft pick Conn Durian came to the plate. Durian hit a 2-run home run on a first pitch sinker from Houston hurler Aydan Ambrosino. It was Durian's 2nd home run of the year.

"Good pitching stops good hitting," said Hunt. "And vice-versa."
