Royals Suffer 8-1 Setback
|
California shortstop Mohamed Coleman played a vital role in his team's 8-1 conquest of Kansas City. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for California. California pitcher Lance Kemp got the win, upping his record to 5-7. Victor Johnson got the loss. The 5th-place Royals dropped to 31-45.
With California leading 3-0 in the bottom of the first, Coleman hit a changeup from Victor Johnson for a 3-run home run. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the Angels ahead, 6-0.
Kansas City manager Steven Fahey said his team was "out of sync."
