Olguin Powers Indians to 8-4 Win
|
Getting a good performance from left fielder Antony Olguin, the Cleveland Indians defeated the Kansas City Royals, 8-4. Olguin was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for the Indians. Cleveland reliever Rafael Antonello was the winner. His record is now 7-4. The losing pitcher was Lincoln Anderson. Cleveland is now 43-32, 2 games up in the Eastern Region Great Lakes Division.
Cleveland relied on the hitting of Cory Martínez to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a grand slam home run in the top of the second inning to put the Indians on top, 4-0. For the game, Martínez had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Olguin.
