Giants Defeated, 6-2
|
The Montreal Expos rode a solid performance from 24-year-old starting pitcher Gabriel Taylor to a win, beating the San Francisco Giants, 6-2, at Oracle Park. The last-place Expos improved to 31-44.
Montreal relied on the hitting of Britt Williamson to pick up the win. The designated hitter ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the first inning to put the Expos on top, 2-0. For the game, Williamson had 1 triple and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"My job is to throw quality pitches, go as deep as I can, and give us an opportunity," said Taylor.
