New York Edges San Diego, 2-1, Santiago Ks 10
|
Yoandry Santiago was outstanding against San Diego. The left-hander, who finished 2nd in the EAST in wins with 17 in 2046, had a screwball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Mets 2-1 win. J.D. Taylor nailed down his 6th save. New York has won 4 consecutive games.
The Padres had few good swings against Santiago, the left-hander, who threw 95 pitches over 7.1 innings. He allowed just no runs on 3 hits.
"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Santiago said.
