Hops Losers, 3-1, to Las Vegas

The Las Vegas Knights picked up a win at Big Slick's House of Hardball, knocking off the Portland Hops, 3-1. On the mound for Las Vegas was right-hander Jason Towery. He played a key role in the triumph. John Kenney, credited with the save, is now 1 for 2 in save opportunities. The Knights improved their record to 46-25 with the win over Portland.
José Maria Caban had a big run-scoring double for the Knights in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Las Vegas leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a cutter from Linc Gemmell, who is tied for 3rd in the AL in complete games with 1, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 15th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Knights ahead, 3-1.
"This was a tough loss," said Portland manager Nelson Espinoza. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
