The Atlanta Braves took it on the chin, losing, 10-2, to the Indianapolis Ignition. James Tones, who finished 2nd in the NL in innings pitched with 219.0 in 2060, pitched a strong game for Indianapolis. The winning pitcher was Tones, now 5-4. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 3. Eugene Washington picked up the save for Indianapolis, his 4th of the year.

Jackson Sherwood had a big 2-run double for the Ignition in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Indianapolis leading 3-0 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from 24-year old left-handed pitcher Horace Castro and swatted a double to left. It was his 23rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Ignition ahead, 5-0.

"What a dismal performance," lamented losing manager Ricardo Delgado.

The third-place Ignition lifted their record to 36-34.
