Giants Trip Mariners, 5-3, in Extra Innings
|
The San Francisco Giants battled the Seattle Mariners into extra innings before the outcome was decided. The Giants won it, finally, 5-3, in 10 innings. In the game, San Francisco left fielder Myles Williams was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win went to Byron Johnson in relief, making him now 1-0. Wade Paulson took the loss for Seattle. With the win, San Francisco goes to 37-32, while the Mariners fall to 45-24.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With no one out, Williams hit a cutter from Wade Paulson for a 2-run home run. The Giants, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
In postgame comments, Williams said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
