Matadors Win Thriller, 3-2
|
Mexico City got a terrific performance from pitcher Jaden Rigney, but it wasn't enough to beat the Yucatan Matadors. Yucatan won the Bull Rush Park contest, 3-2. Rigney threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The last-place Matadors have won 4 in a row.
Jesús Muñoz was the walk-off hero for Yucatan. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Matadors shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Muñoz said in his postgame press conference.
