San Francisco Defeated By Blues, 4-3
|
The Memphis Blues locked up a win at Oracle Park, knocking off the San Francisco Giants, 4-3. On the mound for Memphis was right-hander Ryder Gideon. He played a major role in the triumph. In 7 innings, Gideon surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Ben Vough, credited with the save, is now 2 for 3 in save opportunities.
The Blues got a big at-bat from right fielder Mario Brown. For the game, Brown was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 18th double of the season gave Memphis a 3-1 lead.
"You need to show up when your number's called," said Brown.
Memphis, with the win, climbs to 23-44.
