Almost There: New York On Cusp of DS Triumph After 6-4 Win
The New York Yankees moved to within one game of the Regional Championship Series, downing the Atlanta Braves on the road at Truist Park by a score of 6-4. Yankees right-hander Vic Schramm had a strong outing. He threw 5.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The win gives the Yankees a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.

New York used a timely hit from Enzo Aponte to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Yankees ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"Things aren't going great right now," Atlanta manager Vicente Alba said. "But you don't need me to tell you that."

Game 5 is scheduled for Saturday at Yankee Stadium.
