Intimidators Clip LumberKings 3-2 in ACS Contest
|
The Kannapolis Intimidators and the Clinton LumberKings will take the A Championship Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Intimidators beat the LumberKings 3-2 at CMC-NorthEast Stadium to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Kannapolis left-hander Stewie Asher had a big role in the win. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball.
Kannapolis grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and a runner on 1st, Timo Pérez delivered a 2-run home run, to make it 3-1 in favor of the Intimidators.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Fernando Vasquez.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at CMC-NorthEast Stadium in Kannapolis.
