Sun Dogs Rally Past Flamingos for 2-1 Series Lead
The 21-year-old rookie on the mound turned out to be the least of the Fort Myers Flamingos worries.

Giving a high-pressure playoff start to youngster Abe McDaniel seemed like a risky move for the Flamingos, but it was one of the few things that went right at Roger Dean Stadium. McDaniel tossed 6 solid innings, but it was all for naught after Fort Myers dropped a 1-0 decision. With the win, Miramar took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 Regional Championship Series.

Alfredo Gil clinched the win with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth. In the game, the Miramar pinch hitter drove in one run.

"Every team in baseball loses," Flamingos manager Benjamino Parez said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Roger Dean Stadium in Miramar.
