Road Win Lifts Charleston to 1-0 Lead in ACS
|
The Charleston RiverDogs started the A Championship Series in style, winning on the road against the Great Lakes Loons at Dow Diamond by a score of 7-2 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. RiverDogs right-hander Mendy Salas threw 6.0 innings of 2-hit ball.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Ron Castle? The Charleston catcher had a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the RiverDogs on top, 6-2. For the game, Castle had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Feels good to get the job done," Salas said after the game.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Dow Diamond in Midland.
