Almost There: Rocket City On Cusp of RCS Triumph After 4-1 Win
The Rocket City Trash Pandas moved to within one game of the AA Championship Series, downing the visiting St. Petersburg Flying Squirrels at Hank Aaron Stadium by a score of 4-1. Trash Pandas right-hander Gilroy Hovanec had a strong outing in which he threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball. The win gives the Trash Pandas a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Regional Championship Series.

Ian Gasperetti's at-bat in the bottom of the seventh was significant, coming with runners on 1st and 2nd and the game tied, 1-1. The Rocket City right fielder hit a run-scoring single off Patrik Boucher to put the Trash Pandas up.

"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Hovanec. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Hank Aaron Stadium in Madison.
