Rocket City Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in RCS
|
The Rocket City Trash Pandas got a strong performance from pitcher Juan Jones, who stymied the visiting St. Petersburg Flying Squirrels en route to a win, 5-3, in Game 3 of the Regional Championship Series. The Flying Squirrels could never get a bead on the left-handed Jones, who threw 7.0 innings allowing 3 runs. The Trash Pandas now hold a 2-1 in the best-of-7 series.
Daryl McKinnon had a clutch at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for the Trash Pandas. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Rocket City trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run double.
"It feels good to get this one," McKinnon told the Rocket City Today.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Hank Aaron Stadium in Madison.
