Cyprian Blasts Stampede, Brewers Take Game 4, 9-7
|
On the verge of being swept and facing a red-hot Medicine Hat Stampede team, the Helena Brewers had a tough assignment. Troy Cyprian delivered.
The Brewers right fielder was unstoppable for the visitors, as he was 2-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice in guiding his club to its first victory of the series, 9-7. Cyprian, 22, earned accolades for his efforts. The win means Helena now trails 3-1 in the best-of-7 series.
The Brewers took the lead in the top of the sixth. With two out, Stephen Tardiff hit a 2-run home run off Medicine Hat pitcher Randell Williams, putting Helena in front, 9-3. For the game, Tardiff went 1-5 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Cyprian, "and then get after it again."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Medicine Hat in Medicine Hat.
