Rainiers Hammered by Pérez, Drop Game 3 to Sidewinders
Riding the 3-hit performance of first baseman Ferdinand Pérez, the Tucson Sidewinders stopped the visiting Tacoma Rainiers, 5-3, in Game 3 of the Regional Championship Series. Pérez went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Sidewinders, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 1.

Had Pérez not come through in the bottom of the seventh, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Pérez hit a grand slam home run. The Sidewinders took the lead, 5-3, and never looked back.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Tucson manager Spike Peck.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Greater Nevada Field in Tucson.
