5-Hit Blitz by Los Angeles's Fletcher
|
After a 5-hit effort to lead Los Angeles's 11-2 victory over the Atlanta Braves, center fielder Juwan Fletcher told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."
"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Skyline Baseball League-level is really something special."
The 23-year-old player earned his accolades at Truist Park with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Braves.
"His swing is getting there," said Dodgers skipper B.J. Willemin, who spoke glowingly of Fletcher after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Juwan did that to perfection."
Juwan Fletcher walked in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This season, Fletcher has hit at a .324 clip and produced 26 runs batted in, 2 home runs and 53 runs.
