Erwin Win to Pull Even With Kinston
|
In a crucial game, the Erwin Mountaineers put on their best show, beating the Kinston Indians by a final score of 4-0 today. Marty Roberts threw 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball. Erwin and Kinston are now tied at 1 wins apiece in the best-of-7 affair.
Erwin used a clutch hit from A.J. Becker to get the win. The catcher drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Mountaineers ahead, 4-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"At least it was over quickly," Indians manager Ivan Ibarra said. "We'll just have to try our luck again."
The next game is set to be played for Sunday, September 22nd , 2052 at Ballpark of Edmonton in Erwin.
