Almost There: Westside On Cusp of RCS Triumph After 9-6 Win
The Westside Woolly Mammoths moved to within one game of the A Championship Series, downing the visiting Great Lakes Loons at Municipal Stadium by a score of 9-6. Woolly Mammoths first baseman L.J. Roycroft Jr. did some major damage. He went 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The win gives the Woolly Mammoths a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Regional Championship Series.

With Westside leading 7-6 in the bottom of the sixth, Trent Mestas hit a 2-run single off Great Lakes pitcher Stefanos Coffey. It put the Woolly Mammoths ahead 9-6.

"The vibe's good," said Westside manager Ken Mouw. "We've got to keep it going."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Municipal Stadium in Utica.
