Keeton Blasts Smokies, Indians Take Game 2, 7-4
|
The Kinston Indians defeated the Harlan Smokies, 7-4, in Game 2 of the Divisional Series. Making an impact was first baseman Logan Keeton, who hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The win moves Kinston into a 1-1 tie with Harlan in the series.
Kinston took advantage of an error in the top of the ninth inning. The game was tied, 4-4, when Feo Bravo hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put the Indians in front, 6-4.
"Things broke our way today and that's great," Indians manager Gunner Litherland said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."
Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday at Ballpark of Kinston in Kinston.
