With starter Meric Benson leading the charge, the Flint Wolverines defeated the Clinton LumberKings, 6-4, in Game 2 of the Divisional Series. The right-hander threw 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball at Ashford University Field to help Flint take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Juan Peña, the Flint first baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to make the score 4-1, Wolverines. For the game, Peña went 2 for 5 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.

Benson told the Flint Observer: "I'm the straw that stirs the drink."

The next game is set to be played for Thursday, September 29th , 2061 at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark in Flint.
