Bananas Heading to Regional Championship Series
|
The Savannah Bananas bandwagon is filling up fast, as the team has moved one step closer to winning a A Championship Series championship.
Savannah downed the Delmarva Shorebirds 8-3 tonight at Ballpark of Savannah, to take the Divisional Series 4-2.
"It seems much more real now and we're really starting to realize we've got a great shot at this thing," said Junior Castaneda, who was named series MVP. "When we play our best we're as good as anybody in the Single A."
For the series, Castaneda had 12 hits for .500, with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, 9 RBI and scored 5 runs.
The Regional Championship Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Divisional Series finishes.
