Muckdogs Hammered by Balogun, Drop Game 2 to Black Bears
|
The West Virginia Black Bears knotted up the Divisional Series at Dwyer Stadium today, thanks in large part to catcher Alexander Balogun. Balogun was 2-5 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once as he overpowered the Batavia Muckdogs, enabling West Virginia to grab the 6-4 win and move into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-7 series.
It could have been a different outcome for West Virginia, had it not been for Tracy Alix, the 22-year old center fielder . Alix contributed a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to put West Virginia up, 3-0.
"I try to take on every game as if it is the most important of the season, so I don't feel like anything's different now," Alix said after the game.
The next game is set to be played for Sunday, September 22nd , 2052 at Dutchess Stadium in Morgantown.
